Flaunty fined $20k over motorcycle death

6926631Auckland politician Warren Flaunty has been ordered to pay $20,000 in reparation and has been disqualified from driving over the death of a motorcyclist.

But he failed to escape from a conviction.

Flaunty, a pharmacist,  Waitemata District Health Board member, Henderson-Massey Local Board member and former chairman of the Waitakere Licensing Trust, pleaded guilty to careless driving causing death in October 2011.

He's so concerned he's taken a series of photos of Nelson scooter riders to illustrate his point.

Dead biker 'a true sportsman'

He was Mark Brehaut, 45, of Lower Hutt.

The accident happened yesterday during the first round of the Victoria Motorcycle Club's winter series.

 

A US motorcycle enthusiast has taken legal action after a bike seat gave him long lasting erections.

Straight from the ''only in America'' files comes this – a Californian man is suing BMW North America over a seat that gave him a severe case of priapism (A persistent, lasting erection) that has lasted for 20 months.

Henry Wolf claims his 1993 BMW motorcycle, or more specifically the bike's "ridge-like" seat, gave him a "severe case of priapism" when he took it for a four-hour ride on May 1, 2010, according to the Courthouse News Service.
